The Wood Products Extension Department at North Carolina State University supports the wood products industry in North Carolina and beyond.  It is our mission to provide support to the wood products industry as an outreach service of NCSU and the Cooperative Extension Service.

The Profitable Sawmill Workshop is a one day event that focuses for small sawmill businesses what is needed to be a successful business.  We have multiple highly qualified professionals leading discussions on the important topics of business management, marketing of lumber products, sawmill equipment, log and lumber grading, small dry kilns, solar dry kilns, lumber stacking and stain avoidance methods.
This event is held at the Wood Education and Resource Center at Princeton, WV.  Hotels are located at Exit 9 on I-77 in Princeton.  The WERC serves the 35 states east of the Great Plains.
