We provide the following programs to children, adults, and families experiencing hearing loss and/or deafness:KidSigns & TeenSigns--This premier program is for youth and families all over West Michigan tailored to deaf and hard of hearing childrenInterpreter Services--We provide all levels of certified interpreters for several counties in MichiganHearing Assistive Technology--Many types of hearing assistive devices and help with low cost hearing aids are available at our main officeCommunity Education--Speakers and trainings  on deaf and hard of hearing awareness and issues are available for your business or groupAdvocacy--This service is provided to help navigate and problem-solve areas of concern for people experiencing deafness or hearing lossVolunteering--If you would like an opportunity to volunteer we have many ways in which you can make an impactAmerican Sign Language Classes--Various levels of sign language classes are offered at different locations and times of the year for your convenience and skill level

Description:Professional Conversations, hosted by the D&amp;HHS Mentor Program, invites future and current working interpreters to participate in Bi-monthly ethical discussions centered around creating professional communities of practice as an ASL interpreter.Tuesday May 17, 2022, from 6 - 8pm. Online conversations hosted on Zoom. $20/participant until May 3, 2022. Price increase after that. Workshop will be held in spoken English. Accommodation requests must be made by 4 pm on May 10, 2022.Connecticut RID is an approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies (PS) program is offered for 0.2 CEUs at the “Some” instructional level.**State of MI &quot;Ethics&quot; CEUs APPROVED**LARA-BCHS has approved MI CEU Sponsorship for this workshop with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services for 0.2 Professional Studies / Ethics units. Partial MI CEU Sponsorship CEUs will not be awarded for this event and participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance as documentation.Cancellation Policy - 50% refund if cancelled by May 3, 2022. After this date, no refund will be given. D&amp;HHS reserves the right to cancel at any time with a full refund. Eventbrite fees will NOT be refunded.
