The National Produce Prescription Collaborative (NPPC) is on a mission to integrate Produce Prescriptions (PRx) as a covered benefit for members of all health plans whose healthcare providers and case managers diagnose as having or having elevated risk for diet-related illness as well as having or having elevated risk for food insecurity. This includes government-sponsored plans like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), Medicare and Medicare Advantage, as well as beneficiaries of Indian Health Services, Veterans Health Administration, and TRICARE.
The NPPC community is open to all organizations that are equity-centered, health-forward, and mission-aligned. The community includes PRx practitioners, healthcare providers and payers, food retailers, distributors, food hubs, academic researchers, advocacy groups, think tanks, and other supportive stakeholder organizations.
The food-is-medicine movement relies on cross-sector collaboration and pooling of resources and expertise toward fulfilling its promise of improving health and curbing the burdens of diet related disease as a nation.
On May 28th, NPPC will be hosting a networking opportunity for advocates from across the country to meet, connect and help strengthen our advocacy voice.

The event will take place from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at the penthouse at Capitol Crossing, home to NPPC’s offices, in the heart of Washington, DC.
Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. NPPC members from across the country will be flying in to join attendees for the NPPC Day of Action, CMS Health Equity Conference, and the Food is Medicine Strategy Summit happening that week.
