Join The Neighborhood, Fig Tree, The Senesh School, and Kane Street Synagogue for a welcoming and family-friendly Pride Shabbat celebration. Friday evening is Kabbalat Shabbat–a time to slow down, gather with loved ones, break bread, and practice Jewish rituals, old and new. Together we will welcome in Pride Shabbat, lighting candles, raising our voices, making Shabbat and Pride-inspired crafts, and enjoying a delicious meal. This event is intended for the whole family!Pride Shabbat is presented as a part of Jewish Family Pride Brooklyn: a weekend of celebrations for Queer Jewish families and those who love them. Jewish Family Pride Brooklyn is produced by The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life, and is generously supported by UJA-Federation of New York.About Our Partners:<a href="https://www.figtreeprogram.com/" title="https://www.figtreeprogram.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Fig Tree</a> is an independent Jewish education program for children ages 3 – 13. The purpose of Fig Tree is to provide rich and accessible Jewish education to families seeking a Hebrew School alternative. Our learners explore Jewish culture, values, ritual, holidays, and Hebrew language in a fun, relatable way. In small weekly classes led by experienced teachers, we incorporate elements of art, music, drama, and movement to foster a meaningful learning experience and deepened sense of Jewish identity for each student.<a href="https://kanestreet.org" title="https://kanestreet.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kane Street Synagogue</a> is a community of traditional Jews and secularists, families, couples, and singles, LGBTQIA+, non-binary, and straight. Our members include interfaith families, and Jews who are returning to their roots. We are a community where any sincere person can find a place. At Kane Street, we bring the wisdom and compassion of Jewish traditions to all, regardless of one’s background.<a href="https://www.hannahsenesh.org/" title="https://www.hannahsenesh.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Senesh School </a>is an open and inclusive Jewish day school, where K-8 students from all different backgrounds grow into ever more curious, kind, and confident people. Senesh cultivates intellectual curiosity in a rigorous academic environment that teaches the whole child, guiding our students with Jewish values and challenging them to be agents of change toward a more just world. Together, students, parents, and staff create a welcoming and vibrant home, offering a place of belonging for diverse Jewish families.<a href="https://theneighborhoodbk.org/" title="https://theneighborhoodbk.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life</a> is an inclusive and welcoming community and cultural hub in Brooklyn. We produce programs to fill gaps, raise up underrepresented perspectives, and welcome the thousands of Brooklynites that have not yet found their Jewish connection point. We have created a welcoming space that reflects the spirit of Brooklyn–future-thinking and deeply historical, iconoclastic and sacred.
