SpeakOut is a mission-driven speakers bureau and education institute. Our mission is to encourage critical and imaginative thinking to address the major inequities of our day and transform a fractured world.

Join the SpeakOut family as we explore the history of resistance in queer communities, what art-making and joy mean in this day and age, and how to stand in solidarity and action with our Black and Indigenous queer siblings.
Hear personal stories, performances, and calls-to action from one dozen of SpeakOut’s LGBTQ+ activists, creatives, and speakers.
This will be a Pride event that lifts up our history, celebrates our resilience, and honors Black LGBTQ+ lives lost to violence! This is not just about solidarity - The Gay & Lesbian Liberation Movement and the Movement 4 Black Lives are intertwined historically, but we also must recognize the systems that have hurt our communities for so long and what we can change about them.
Join us for an powerful hour-long event. Then stay after for the 30 minute dance party!

The People’s History – As we honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising that sparked the movement for Queer Liberation, we’ll look at how people’s personal stories are part of making history too. After all, we are all movers and makers of history - yesterday and TODAY! We’ll hear from Robyn Henderson-Espinoza, Andrew Jolivette, Anthony Ocampo, and Aishah Shahidah Simmons, as they share how they have come to own their story and use their joy as resistance.

The Queer Creatives Roundtable – We’ll kick this off with a virtual showcase featuring four acclaimed LGBTQ+ SpeakOut creatives as they discuss artmaking as resistance and why art has been at the center of so many of our movements. With D'Lo, Kausar Mohammed, Yosimar Reyes, and Scott Turner Schofield.

DJ Music Set and Dance – Stay after the virtual Pride event for another half hour to celebrate to the energetic sounds of Madame Gandhi. Her mix of electro-pop, trap, Afrobeat, and R&B will ignite this celebration!

SpeakOut's LGBTQ+ virtual family invites you, your friends, family, and networks to come together with us to build community, build knowledge, and build towards a future where all of us are free! In support of Black Lives Matter and all our our Black and Brown trans siblings who have been lost to state-sponsored violence and beyond.

 TICKETS ARE SLIDING SCALE $0 - $25 to benefit speakers and artists impacted by the cancellation of events due to the pandemic. No one turned away for lack of funds (free tickets). All who register will receive a link to watch live or later at their own convenience. Closed caption version will be available 3-4 days after the live event.
