The People’s Garden welcomes Madame Gandhi!! An award-winning artist and activist known for her uplifting, percussive electronic music and positive message about gender liberation and personal power. Welcome to Pride on Third featuring Madame Gandhi with Oakadelic and host Jeremy Jones with DJ NoSilence and singer Meelah Mahasin all happening Sunday June 2nd at 4101 Third Street SF CA. Season 2 at The People’s Garden has already shown a vibrant array of bay area talents for free to the Bayview and San Francisco music community with support from various organizations throughout the city. Pride on Third will be a party and an excellent way to kick summer into gear. June is black music month and we proudly welcome the former drummer for artists M.I.A and Thievery Corporation. She has been listed as a TED Fellow, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Music and BBC 100 Women. In June 2023, she was awarded the Songwriter's Hall of Fame Abe Olman Prize for excellence in songwriting and leadership. Madame Gandhi’s mission is to use her music and voice as a medium for a message about positivity, personal expression and human thriving. DJ NoSilence will open the Sunday afternoon set followed by Oakadelic, the heart of Bay Area funk, soul, jazz and rnb. Keeping up a weekly soul jam session, Oakadelic and singer Meelah Mahasin hone and repurpose the greats like Parliament Funkadelic, Miles Davis and even the symphonic sounds of Gustave Mahler and more.
