About this event

The Pride of Woodstock High Heel race is an all-inclusive event representing our community’s diverse, accepting culture. Everyone participating in the race: male, female, non-binary, LGBTQ+, and straight, will wear high heels (e.g. pumps, platforms, wedges, stilettos, slingbacks) as they run, walk, saunter or sashay from the intersection of Elm and Pleasant Streets to the intersection of Elm and Central Streets in Woodstock, VT.

Costumes, wigs, make-up and sparkle are highly recommended!

Winners will be selected in 6 categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Best Hair, Best Shoes, and Best Outfit.


First Place will receive a snow board donated by Pepsi!

Second Place will recieve a $50 gift card from Revolution in White River Junction!

Third Place will recieve a $25 gift card from Vermont Flannel!

What is the Pride of Woodstock High Heel Race?

The High Heel Race is a fun, community-oriented event during Woodstock Pride Weekend where participants sprint a short distance while wearing high heels. It's designed to be a light-hearted event that brings people together for laughter, camaraderie and a bit of a challenge!

Who can participate?

We encourage participants of all genders, identities and backgrounds to join in the fun. Please note that you'll need to sign a waiver (included in your registration) before the race.

Can I wear running shoes or flats?

Nope! This is a HIGH HEEL race!

Do I have to run?

Only if you want to win! Participants are welcome to walk, run, sashay, strut , windmill kick or dead drop their way to the finish line.

What is the race distance?

The sprint is approximately 1000 feet. It's a short sprint but can be challenging in high heels, so practice is encouraged!

Are there prizes?

Absolutely! Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers, best outfit, best heels, and best hair. The first place winner will be given a snowboard!

Will I receive a race t-shirt?

Yes! All registered participants will receive a Pride of Woodstock High Heel race t-shirt as part of theirr registration.
