Let’s learn about local plants connect on our shared Queer ancestors and share space in community together. (low/medium difficulty about 2 miles dogs welcome!)

11am – 12pm: Drag Story Hour @ Campfire Circle

Drag Story Hour celebrates reading through the glamorous art of drag. Our chapter network creates diverse, accessible, and culturally inclusive family programming where kids can express their authentic selves and become bright lights of change in their communities. Drag Story Hour envisions a world where kids can learn from LGBTQ+ stories and experiences to love themselves, celebrate the fabulous diversity in their communities, and stand up for what they believe in and each other.

1-4pm: Music Connects Foundation’s Tea Dance Celebration @ East Meadow

Bathe in the sun with beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge while dancing to soulful House music in celebration of our amazing BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community. Our musical journey will be curated by DJs Brown Amy and Jason Godfrey with a live performance by Tobirus Mozelle.

“Tea dances” (or T-dances) are historical gathering spaces for the queer community, started in New York in the 1950s and 1960s. These dances served a crucial role in LGBTQ+ history, providing a space for connection, self-expression, and community during a repressive time. In 1979 the EndUp began "Church" that became our communities tea dance on Sundays in San Francisco.

Additional Info:

Pride in the Park is an intentionally Queer event. That means this event provides a space of belonging, kindness, empathy, patience, exploration, celebration and joy. All are welcome here, and the LGBTQ+ community is centered. RSVPs are not required for this event, but they're appreciated as they help us prepare.

The Pride in the Presidio event is helped organized by the Music Connects Foundation, San Francisco Public Library Hormel Center, Presidio YMCA and Drag Story Hour in collaboration with the Partnership for the Presidio.
