Aspire Counseling & Consulting Services and Social Workers of Alabama is excited to present to you our live CEU event. This event addresses crituical issues in social work by enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience among clinicians. It aligns with the NASW Code of Ethics by promoting self-care as an ethical responsibility to maintain professional competence. Participants will gain practical skills to mitigate burnout, enhance client care, and uphold core social work values.


Objectives:


To identify and assess somatic responses to stress and burnout by recognizing physical and emotional signs of dysregulation and understanding their impact on clinical practice

To apply evidence-based self-regulation techniques such as grounding exercises, breathwork, and mindfulness to stabilize the nervous system and enhance professional resilience

To develop and implement a sustainable self-care plan to integrate self-regulation strategies into daily routines and teach these practices to clients.


About Our Speaker

Presenter: Ms. Leilani Mason, LICSW-QS

Leilani Mason is a clinical social worker, group practice owner, and lifelong learner dedicated to bringing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to rural communities. With a background as a forensic interviewer, Leilani began her career working with children and families experiencing profound trauma. Leilani earned her Clinical Social Work degree from the University of West Florida in 2011 and initially served at-risk families as a dyadic parent-child therapist. She later worked with the Department of Defense as a Military Family Life Counselor, supporting service members and their families. An experienced educator, Leilani has served as an adjunct professor in the Social Work Program at the University of West Florida. In 2017, she founded Healthy Minds Consulting LLC in Atmore, Alabama, to address the pressing need for mental health services in rural communities across the state. Her group practice also offers in-person and virtual training opportunities for clinicians. Leilani is highly specialized in trauma treatment, utilizing modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems, and Polyvagal Theory to help clients recover from trauma. As an EMDR Consultant-in-Training (CIT) and Qualified Supervisor, she is passionate about mentoring clinicians and advancing trauma-informed care.
