Join us for a press preview of El Museo's new exhibition: Raphael Montañez Ortiz - A Contextual Retrospective.

The eight-decade retrospective dedicated to artist, educator, and founder of El Museo del Barrio, Raphael Montañez Ortiz, a pioneer in the US neo avant-garde, is the largest exhibition-to-date dedicated to the artist. In contextual relations with peers working in Europe, Latin America and the US, the show spans narratives around identity, decolonization, and ethno-aesthetics. For full press kits, click here.

A guided tour of the exhibitions will be led by El Museo's Chief Curator Rodrigo Moura and Guest Curator Julieta Gonzalez. Also present will be Raphael Montañez Ortiz, and Patrick Charpenel, Executive Director of El Museo del Barrio.

11:00 - 11:30am: Q&A and time to explore Las Galerías. Bagged lunches will be made available upon leaving.
