Presenter training workshop
Full-day training to sharpen presenting and presentation skills, boost engagement, clarity and impact across talks, meetings and more.
Full address: Matrix Fitness, Imperium, Imperial Way, Reading RG2 0TD
This full-day, practical training workshop is designed to help professionals elevate both their presentation delivery and design to achieve genuine impact. Whether you are speaking at conferences, delivering teaching sessions, leading meetings, or communicating ideas within teams, the ability to present clearly, confidently and persuasively is an essential skill. This session focuses on translating good ideas into compelling messages that engage audiences, improve retention and drive action.
Running from 10:00 to 16:00, the day combines evidence-informed principles with hands-on application. Participants will explore how people process information, why many presentations fail to connect, and how small changes in structure, storytelling and visual design can significantly improve engagement. The emphasis is on practical techniques that can be applied immediately across a wide range of professional contexts.
The morning will focus on presentation delivery. This includes developing clarity of message, structuring content for maximum impact, and using narrative techniques to make information more memorable. Attention will be given to voice, pace, body language and presence, key elements that influence how messages are received. Participants will also explore strategies to manage nerves and build confidence, recognising that effective delivery is not about personality, but about skill development and preparation.
The afternoon will shift towards PowerPoint/canva and visual communication. Rather than relying on text-heavy slides, attendees will learn how to design clean, purposeful visuals that support, not compete with, the speaker. Core principles such as simplicity, contrast, hierarchy and visual storytelling will be covered, alongside common pitfalls that reduce clarity and engagement. Participants will have the opportunity to review and refine their own slides, applying these principles in real time.
Throughout the day, there will be interactive elements, including small group exercises, peer feedback and opportunities to practise delivery in a supportive environment. The aim is to move beyond passive learning and create meaningful skill development through doing, reflecting and refining. The session is relevant for a broad range of professionals, including those in healthcare, education, business and leadership roles, and is equally valuable for improving everyday communication such as team meetings and project updates.
The training also acknowledges the wider context in which communication takes place. In an environment where attention is limited and information is abundant, the ability to communicate succinctly and effectively is increasingly important. This workshop equips participants with tools to cut through noise, hold attention and ensure that key messages are understood and remembered.
The session runs from 10:00 to 16:00. Please note that food is not provided, so attendees are advised to bring their own lunch. There will be access to a gym and fitness space during breaks or after the session for those who wish to incorporate movement into the day, supporting both wellbeing and focus.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to design and deliver presentations that are structured, engaging and impactful. They will also have practical frameworks and techniques that can be applied immediately, supporting more confident communication across all areas of professional practice.
