A Zoom panel about the role of documentation as a tool for preserving histories of gentrification, organizing against displacement, and celebrating resilience. A conversation with This Side of Hoover, The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project, and The East Hollywood Tenants Union. This series is presented in collaboration with The East Hollywood Neighborhood Council.

Samanta Helou Hernandez, This Side of Hoover: This Side of Hoover is a visual archive documenting gentrification and resilience along the East Hollywood/Silverlake border.
Terra Graziani, The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project: Terra Graziani is a researcher and tenants’ rights organizer based in Los Angeles, CA. She founded and co-directs the Los Angeles chapter of the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project (AEMP), a digital storytelling collective documenting dispossession and resistance in solidarity with gentrifying communities through research, oral history, and data work.
Stephano Medina, Eviction Defense Network & The East Hollywood Tenants Union: Stephano grew up in Los Angeles and is the son of Ecuadorian immigrants. He is currently a Skadden Fellow at the Eviction Defense Network in Los Angeles, working on anti-gentrification policy and litigation alongside his sister, another EDN staff attorney handling eviction cases. Before law school, Stephano worked as a community organizer in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He is also a solidarity attorney with the East Hollywood Tenants Union.
