Prepare Your Pelvic Floor For Birth

Are you looking to learn how to prepare your body for labor? Did you know that your pelvic floor plays a major role in this event? Designed for all trimesters, join Dr. Jennifer Plaetz, PT, DPT at TruLiving Birth Center in Menomonie, to learn more about the role the pelvic floor plays in labor and a variety of laboring positions beyond just your back.

This 60-minute interactive class will provide educational insight to the following during labor:

  • Breathing techniques to help with pushing, pregnancy & postpartum recovery
  • Laboring positions for natural movement of the pelvis
  • Pelvic floor muscle awareness
  • Whole body strengthening, stability and endurance preparation

Please bring your own yoga mat and yoga block.

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in. We will be in various positions throughout the class.

Is there anything I should bring?

Yes, please bring your own yoga mat and yoga block. If you do not have one, there will be some available but limited quantities so it is best if everyone brings their own.

Should I attend even if I plan on having a C-section?

Absolutely! The breathing techniques and connection to the pelvic floor is beneficial for anyone who is preparing for birth. Connecting to the pelvic floor during pregnancy can be helpful with recovery postpartum.

Will I still find this beneficial if I have birthed before?

Yes. No matter your trimester, first pregnancy or subsequent birth, this class is designed for everyone who is pregnant. Connecting to the pelvic floor helps with ease of delivery and healing and recovery postpartum.
