2-day workshop on providing immediate mental health crisis interventions

Location: Boise State University - Student Union Building, Farnsworth Room, 1700 W University Drive, Boise, ID 83706Format and Times: 2-day Training. Both days: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Mountain<ul><li>Because of the limited venue capacity, only two people from the same district can register/attend. The event organizer will frequently review registrants for more than two from a district and will reach out to you, if needed.</li></ul>Participants: Crisis intervention specialists, school mental health staff (school psychologists, social workers, counselors, and nurses), building and district administrators, and other individuals identified as appropriate providers of psychological first aid Purpose: This 2-day workshop develops the knowledge and skill required to provide immediate mental health crisis interventions to the students, staff, and school community members who have been simultaneously exposed to an acute traumatic stressor. The knowledge and skill developed within this session also help to build a bridge to the psychotherapeutic and trauma informed mental health response sometimes required to address challenges associated with trauma exposure. This workshop is an excellent course for all mental health professionals in your district who provide mental health crisis intervention services. Training Details: <ul><li>Lunch will not be provided. A variety of food options are available on the first level of the Student Union Building or within a walkable distance.</li></ul><ul><li>Professional development credits through Northwest Nazarene University and continuing professional development for NASP members will be available.</li></ul>
