All DPL events are free and open to the public on a first come first serve basis. Your RSVP/Ticket informs us of your interest to attend and allows us to best prepare for the estimated capacity of the event.

Campbell | Detroit Public Library

This program is for the general public. Learn about upcoming celestial events and telescopes, and prepare for the solar eclipse on April 8.

Join Austin Edmister from the Detroit Observatory for a virtual night sky tour, telescope demonstrations, and to learn about upcoming things to see in the night sky. The program will also include general safety and techniques for solar eclipse observations, and other hands-on activities, in preparation for this exciting event on April 8. At the end of the program participants will take home a pair of eclipse glasses (one pair per family while supplies last). This program is for the general audience.
