About this event

  • 1 hour

Join the Kinder Institute's Houston Education Research Consortium to learn about recent pre-K research conducted in partnership with nine Houston-area school districts.

Experts will share an overview of recent pre-K enrollment patterns, classroom characteristics, and the teacher workforce. The majority of the presentation will focus on the relationship between public pre-K participation in the Houston region and early elementary outcomes for students. There will be opportunities for conversations between attendees to consider the implications of the research findings and how they might use these findings to drive their decision-making.

The event is geared toward campus and district leaders who are considering whether to expand investments in pre-K in their spaces, community organizations and advocates for high-quality learning opportunities for young children, and policymakers who need information about the types of programs that benefit students’ short- and long-term outcomes.

PNC is the presenting sponsor of the Kinder Institute's Education Research Engagement Series. PNC Grow Up Great, a multiyear, bilingual initiative, helps prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.
