Meet us at Yogarise Peckham for a 5k shake-out run to and around the park followed by a run specific yoga practice at Peckham Bowls.

Meet us at Yogarise Peckham for a 5k shake-out run to and around the park followed by a run specific yoga practice at Peckham Bowls led by Sam + Priya. Open to all, from anyone running the Hackney Half to anyone simply wanting to enjoy some fresh air and community. We will be running 2 groups at an easy pace Sam will be leading 1 group at 5:30min per km and Priya will be leading group 2 at 6:00min per km. This is a donation based event - please select your donation amount when booking. All proceeds will go to Alzheimer's Society and The People's Recovery Project. Sam’s interest in and love of running is very much about the mental and emotional benefit. From the feeling of accomplishment after every run, to the focus and discipline needed when training for a race that can be so easily translated into his day-to-day life. He will be running to raise money for Alzheimer's Society after the loss of his Nan to the disease a few years ago. Yoga is the perfect complement, practising awareness and using the breath to find comfort in the discomfort, as well as the release and benefit of mobility and stretching for the body. Priya is making a documentary about childhood bereavement, about living with addiction in the home, and about reconciling with a parent later in life. It’s a story about loss, but also about repair and hope. She's making this film to start conversations, and hopefully help young people find the courage to speak, seek support, and imagine better futures. The People’s Recovery Project is a long term partner in this. They will provide her with guidance and support throughout this journey. In return, Priya will support them, their growing community and raise awareness of the great work they do. As a result, every donation will be split equally 50/50.
