Prayer Writing Workshop

717 N Homewood AvePittsburgh, PA
Saturday, June 13  •  12 PM - 2 PM
Overview

Join the guided writing workshop centered on deepening intimacy with the Lord through prayer, reflection, writing & meditation on Scripture.

Join us for a guided prayer writing workshop centered on deepening intimacy with the Lord through prayer, reflection, writing, and meditation on Scripture. Together, we will create space to slow down, listen, write, and pray in community.

This gathering is designed for anyone seeking a more intentional prayer life, greater spiritual clarity, or simply a quiet space to reconnect with God through faith and reflection. Participants will engage in guided writing prompts, moments of spoken and silent prayer, Scripture meditation, and collective encouragement.

No writing experience is necessary. Just bring yourself, an open heart, and a willingness to spend time with the Lord.

About the Facilitator

Dr. Khirsten L. Scott is a writer, educator, and community leader who believes deeply in the power of writing as a pathway to reflection, healing, clarity, and spiritual growth. She serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and Director of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project, where her work centers on storytelling, reflection, and transformative learning.

In addition to her academic and community work, Dr. Scott has served in church leadership as a former youth and young adults minister and continues to create spaces for faith, prayer, honest conversation, and spiritual development. Her approach to prayer and writing is grounded not in perfection, but in the ongoing journey of learning how to trust God more deeply through every season of life.

She is passionate about helping people use writing and prayer to slow down, listen closely, and draw nearer to the Lord.
