This highly interactive session, led by Dr. John Scott, will focus on understanding key theory and pervasive elements of systemic oppression and utilizing social justice theater (Theater of the Oppressed-Boal-Forum Theater), drama therapy, and other creative modalities better. These creative modalities will be utilized as intentional tools for change, inviting participants to analyze, experiment, and explore different strategies for directly addressing issues of oppression and bias that occur at their schools, organizations, and lives. We will also discuss (and practice) how this embodied and creative practice can be used with and in our school and work communities, creating an environment where social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just ideals but integrated, living practices.  Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your water bottles, as this session will be engaging and require physical movement. No theater experience is necessary and all abilitiesare welcomed. 

Participants will receive 6 NAADAC/NASW approved CE’s.
