Event description

Description

This workshop provides delegates with some practical tips on how to get their business ready for the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). There is understandable concern about what the implementation of GDPR will have on businesses. This workshop will focus on the opportunities that are available through taking a fresh look at the way that you collect and store data.

Whether you're a large company, a small business or a community organisation GDPR will affect the way you collect data from your customers or the people you work with. Thinking about how you manage data provides a great opportunity to look at you use data and the benefits you get from it.

Rather than looking at the regulations as a whole, we will focus on the practical things that everyone has to do to do make data protection work,

We will look at:-

  • Data protection principles

  • Making a data protection policy

  • How to audit data

  • Obtaining informed consent

  • Opportunities of GDPR

These elements are essential to ensure your business is GDPR compliant. GDPR shouldn't be something to be afraid of.
