The Pittsburgh Public Schools (District) actively promotes and encourages full and open competition in its procurement of goods and services to ensure equitable and inclusive purchasing procedures. Diverse businesses bring unique skills and fresh ideas, and they play a vital role in delivering the services, value and innovation necessary to serve our most precious commodities, our students. By respecting and including different viewpoints, we are better able to serve our students, employees and community.We are committed to promoting, increasing and improving the overall participation of Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged-owned Business Enterprises by procuring their supplies and services. We also encourage subcontracting opportunities for these businesses by requesting supplier diversity participation from prime contractors.We register and maintain a database of firms which may be accessed on theEligible Business Enterprise (EBE) Directory pageand can assist prime contractors in their search for certified Minority, Woman and/or Disadvantaged business firms for participation to meet established diversity contracting goals.
