The Windows Server Group is a volunteer run, professional association, which exists in order to encourage an exchange of knowledge about all aspects of Windows Server Technology between IT Professionals. We help IT Managers and Administrators deploy Windows Server Technologies within the enterprise, on the internet, and in the Cloud.

Join us for a day of PowerShell.  Just as it is a tool for you to do amazing things, we are going to use it as a tool to explore amazing technologies.  If you are looking to learn PowerShell, we have an entire track dedicated for you.  If you already know the basics, go deep and learn more in our full professional track.  There will be sessions on Azure, Containers, Nano Server, and hands-on lab sessions where you will be able to put the practices you learn to use on your own equipment.  Don't forget to Bring a laptop and power supply.  Also, for security to get in the building, you will need to present an official ID.

Purpose: Introduce and Dive Deep into PowerShell leveraging the latest and greatest technologies such as Windows Server 2016, Office 365, Nano Server, Containers, DevOps, Azure Cloud
Target Audience: Those that work in the IT sector. Whether you are on the Dev, Sec or the Ops side, there is plenty here to learn.

Although intended for App-V packaging, these scripts make a great example for general automation of VMs including the following:

Event Information
We will focus on Automating via PowerShell but also cover DevOps practices, Containers, Windows Server 2016 Nano and how Azure helps deliver and leverage all of these technologies. FAQ / Pre-requisites
Do I have to bring a laptop? A: No, you can learn from watching the presenters in the morning.  You may also wan to look over the sholder of others during the labs in the afternoon
Do I need anything other than a laptop for all the labs? Yes, you will need power to last the day or a power supply.  If you want to run the labs on your own machine, You will need to have PowerShell installed For the Azure Labs:  PowerShell Modules <A HREF="https://github.com/dstolts/Resources/blob/master/Connect-AzureRm.ps1" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://github.com/dstolts/Resources/blob/master/Connect-AzureRm.ps1 </A>Nano labs: Windows Server 2016 ISO image (Available from MSDN) More: Some labs may have other requirements.  They will be added as they become known.  Please check this post 24 hours before the event. 
Can I use a Mac? Yes, Some of the labs are available online.  You will be limited to what labs you can do.  If you have a dual boot or windows server 2016 in a VM with Windows installed you will be able to do most.
Can I use a Linux Workstation? Yes, However, you will be limited on the labs that will run on Linux or online lab environment.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Free parking at the facility
What can I bring into the event? If you want to participate in hands-on labs, you will need a laptop (see above for more details) otherwise, ID and printed ticket.

What's the refund policy? No refund
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, Consider this may slow registration.  Please bring it if possible.  Also since there is a small fee, the ticket is evidence of payment.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes, bring the ticket in and we will make the change during registration.  You will be required to give your name and email address at registration. 
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes, however, you will need to provide your ID.  You will also need to supply your email address.
