Poverty Simulation Workshop
Join us for an interactive experience that demonstrates the day-to-day difficulties that families in poverty experience.
Hosted by the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Please mark your calendar for the Poverty Simulation hosted by the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health and conducted by our community partner, Virginia Cooperative Extension.
This interactive experience allows participants to assume the role of a low‑income family member living on a limited budget over four 15‑minute “weeks,” making decisions to support their household.
The simulation will be held at Building 19 in the Virginia Beach Municipal Center (2416 Courthouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23456).
Registration is required, as this event requires intense planning. Please RSVP by close of business on July 8, 2026
We look forward to your participation!
