Poverty Simulation Experience

The poverty simulation experience is a powerful tool designed to deepen understanding and empathy for individuals and families living in poverty. Participants will step into the shoes of low-income families and face the challenges of trying to make ends meet on a limited budget. Through this interactive experience, participants will gain insight into the daily struggles and tough decisions that millions of people living in poverty face.

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive Simulation: Participants will assume the roles of different families facing various forms of poverty. They will be tasked with providing for basic needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare, while navigating unexpected expenses and challenges.
  • Debriefing Session: Following the simulation, there will be a debriefing session where participants can reflect on their experience, share insights, and discuss the impact of poverty on individuals and communities.
  • Educational Component: The simulation will include an introduction and briefing to provide context and background on poverty in the United States. Participants will learn about the prevalence of poverty and its impact on individuals and society.
