Experience what life is like for those living in poverty. This event helps society learn how important teamwork  is to making a change.

University High School

MWG100, (Muslim Women&#x27;s Giving 100), is inviting you all to a Poverty Simulation event that allows attendees to come together as a team and learn about some of the difficult choices many living in poverty have to make. This event is run by Circles.As everyone is intimately aware, everything takes teamwork and putting on this event would not be possible without our dear partners.Thanks to the generous sponsorship by OBAT Helpers Inc. They have fully funded this event as an investment into education and learning for community members.Thanks to the University High School&#x27;s Muslim Student Association and to University High School for hosting the event.Finally, thanks to all our volunteers. There is a nominal cost for tickets to help MWG100 cover refreshments for our volunteers. The Poverty Simulation is a 3.5 hour event, (including a half hour for registration and sign-in) that sensitizes participants to the reality and challenges of people living in poverty in Marion County. Participants work together as members in low-income families to determine how to survive with little to no money, few resources, emergencies, health issues and more. This experience will help those in service professions understand the challenges of those served who may be experiencing poverty.
