<h2>Poultry Processing Class</h2> Join us for a hands-on poultry processing workshop at Dancing Bear Farm, where you will have the chance to learn how to process chickens from slaughter to packaging! Each participant will go home with a freshly processed, pasture-raised chicken.This class is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to brush up their processing skills. Ages 12+ are welcome to join in.At Dancing Bear Farm we raise Freedom Ranger chickens on pasture. Our birds are able to range free during the day and are kept in shelters at night. Our shelters are moveable by hand, allowing us to move the birds to forage on fresh pasture each day. Participants will have the chance to visit our poultry pasture.Included in this three hour class:<ul><li>Tips to raise meat chickens on pasture: shelter, feed, pasture rotation, predator protection, and more</li><li>Learn how to use the tools and equipment needed for an efficient processing day</li><li>Hands-on practice with all aspects of chicken processing: humane slaughter, scalding and plucking, removal of internal organs, and packaging for freezer storage</li><li>Navigating federal and state (NH) regulations around processing and sale of poultry</li><li>Participants will be able to take home their whole, bagged bird at the end of the class</li></ul>Knives will be provided but we welcome you to bring your own if you wish. Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy and closed-toed shoes. Bring a cooler with ice to bring home your processed chicken. Refund policy: a refund is available up to 7 days before the start of this event. Please note that eventbrite does not refund ticket fees (~7% of the ticket price).Instead of the refund minus eventbrite fees we can offer a credit equal to your ticket price towards any other class or event at Dancing Bear Farm.
