We'd love to invite you to An Army of Normal Folks' inaugural Potlucks with Purpose on November 1st!
They're electric (and eclectic) gatherings where the entire community is invited to dine with each other across differences and hear from some of the most inspiring & heroic Americans that we fly in for our podcast.
Mike Humes, Jon Rich, and Lydia Rosencrantz are fellow Memphians on the host committee for the potlucks 😊
This first one is with Lisa Steven, a former teen mom who was inspired to co-found the only home in Colorado for teen moms!
Hope House Colorado is home to 6 moms and their children, their resource center serves 250 moms with free empowerment programming & early childhood education (childcare to pre-school), and 2 other communities have adopted their model.
It'll be from 5-7 at East Park Playground (389 E Parkway N) by the kids playground, to make it easier/more fun for families bringing kiddos and it’s a cool spot.
There’s a parking lot there, but if full we've also seen people park in the grass alongside the street and also across the street.
Starting at 5:30, Executive Producer Alex Cortes will facilitate a relaxed conversation with Lisa and attendees.
Kids are welcome, each person is asked to bring a dish/es that can be shared (enough to satisfy one person), or you can Venmo us $10/person ($30 max for a family) to order food for the group or you can volunteer at the event.
Detail what you're bringing here.
If you can't make this event, make sure to click follow us on our Eventbrite page and signup to join the Army here to receive updates about future ones.
An Army of Normal Folks is a movement and podcast that's led by lifelong Memphian Coach Bill Courtney (subject of the Oscar-winning film Undefeated on Amazon Prime).
It's based on his powerful vision that "Our country's problems will never be solved by a bunch of fancy people in nice suits talking big words on TV, but by An Army of Normal Folks simply doing what we can."
We're building this Army that can change the country.
The Army has been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Sherri Show, Mike Rowe's podcast, and on the cover of Guideposts Magazine.
