We will learn step by step how to draw proportional faces from front, profile and quarter view perspectives. We will discuss the foundations of the human face, explore how to render different emotions, and learn new observational skills that will help you in other avenues of drawing.
About the instructors:
Liz Burdick is a freelance illustrator who graduated from Maine College of Art and Design in 2022. Originally from Upstate NY, she now lives in Portland. She is pursuing a career in children's books, and loves to paint portraits and nature themes, especially botanicals.
Audrey Parker is an art teacher who loves to teach paper craft and painting. Her artistic practice revolves around creating realistic paper flowers, as well as watercolor paintings with elements of paper sculpture, focusing primarily on nature and our connection to it. She graduated from MECA in 2021 with a Masters in Art Education, and in 2019 with a B.F.A. in Painting and a minor in Art History. Growing up in rural Maine, Audrey has a deep connection to the natural landscape around us.
