Pond Management Workshop
Learn how to identify and control aquatic weeds as well as best management practices for the health of ponds and other SCMs.
This course is designed for professionals in pond management, land/pond owners, HOA landscape committees, Extension Master Gardeners or others interested in an in depth look at pond management.
Stormwater ponds are the primary control measure for stormwater in our communities. They require maintenence to ensure they are functioning properly to protect local water quality. Under nutrient rich conditions, aquatic weeds can quickly reproduce and spread rapidly, causing problems for navigation, irrigation, drainage and aesthetics. This course will cover proper aquatic weed identification, best management practices to maintain pond health, the importance of pond buffers, and cultural, mechanical, and chemical controls.
