Pollinator Garden Workshop
Learn about different pollinators and how to create a garden of any size that will help wildlife flourish!
The value of pollinator plants lies in their ability to provide sources of food and shelter for wildlife. To learn more about the pollinators we hope to attract and support with our gardens, naturalist and insect researcher Charlotte Brennan will lead the educational portion of this program. We will first walk up to the meadow accross from the Black Mansion to learn about a variety of plants and pollinators. Afterwards we will walk back down to the Native Plant Garden do some planting and to get inspiration for our own gardens. A variety of seedlings and seeds will be provided, with a focus on native plants that are especially beneficial.
We recommend bringing your own containers, but we will also have some available. Please bring your own gloves. Hats and sunscreen are also recommended. Inclement weather will cancel the event, however, we will continute the program in light rain. This event is best suited for ages 5 through older adults. Sorry, we do not recommend bringing dogs to this event. Advance registration is required so that we can plan for supplies and volunteers.
