About this event

Bees, butterflies, beetles and even bats are pollinators that benefit from gardens. Children can learn about local pollinator gardens during a tour mixed with educational fun.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, June 22, is hosted by UMES Extension's 4-H STEM Program in partnership with Lower Shore Land Trust.

Participants will gather at the Todd House at 9 a.m. and board UMES vans to visit pollinator gardens in Princess Anne, Westover and Pocomoke City. In addition to touring the sites with their owners, youth will take part in educational scavenger hunts at each garden and win useful 4-H swag.

This event is geared toward children ages 5-18. Each registered youth must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is $5 per person, or $15 for a group of four. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.

The Todd House, where participants will meet, is located at 30510 Antioch Avenue in Princess Anne.

All participants should ride the designated vans unless advanced special permission is granted by the organizer, Ariel Clay.
