This practice group will support activists, organizers, and those who care about the world align our visions for liberation with the actions we are called to take in this moment. We practice in the lineage of Generative Somatics.
This group is for anyone regardless of your experience with politicized somatics. The space will be held to accomodate folks brand new to our methodology and senior students alike!
Particapnts can expect to engage in lots of practice both seated and standing including practice with partners. Some of our practices involve touch and we welcome your choicefulness and agency in choosing the right level of practice for you.
Politicized somatics is all about incresing choice and agency and we do that through embodying new competencies that racial capital either purposefully underdeveloped in us or that we never got to have in the first place.
You can expect our time to look like
- Opening, greeting and intro to politicized somatics
- Opening somatic practices
- A deeper piece of theory (for example: working with embodied boundaries, exploring our automatic responses under pressure, or accessing resilience)
- Practice related to that theory
- Closing
Many of our practices involve work with a partner. Some involve touch. Please know we are very big on consent and your choice and agency are a huge part of how we will hold the space.
Particpants are encouraged to arrive by 5:45 PM as we will begin right at 6 PM!

Accessible restroom in practice room will be available
Entrance from 12th is up a flight of about 15 stairs with a hand rail and 6 additional steps to door .
Masks will be required and airfilters will be running
Financial Contribution:
Each month there will be three free spaces available for folks who would not otherwise be able to afford the cost of attendance. Please avoid registering at this level if you have the means to contribute. Otherwise, suggested donation is $5 to $100. This supports the facilitator's labor. Please consider paying higher on the scale to increase access for all.
