Frequently asked questions

What songs will you play at this show?

During Set 1, we will perform all of The Beatles "PLEASE PLEASE ME" album, which was released on March 22, 1963. The record is about 32 mins in length. The Beatles Guitar Project will also perform a few other early hits from this time during set 1, which will remain a surprise until the show.

What other songs are you going to perform?

During set 2, The Beatles Guitar Project will perform all of "MEET THE BEATLES!" album, which was released on January 20, 1964 (The Beatles landed in the U.S. for the first time on Feb. 7, 1964 & played Ed Sullivan on Feb. 9, 1964... forever altering the course of music history)

How much money is The Beatles Guitar Project trying to raise?

In order to book a large format show, Sac Prep Music Academy needs between $2000 and $5000 to book certain venues. It would be great if we could raise $10,000 at this show; that would allow us to immediately book shows at places like: The Crest, Harris Center, Center for The Performing Arts... etc.

Who is playing on the show?

The Students of Beatles Guitar Project, Director: Benjamin J. McClara, Mr. Peter Petty, Mr. Darrin Baker on Drum Set, Angelica Hays on Bass, Melissa & Rick Fulkerson on Backing Vocals, and Mr. Greg Williams on Guitar. This show, being the earliest of Beatles music is pure, & has no orchestration.

Wheelchair? No problem!

There is a ramp to get into the lobby, and a door to get onto the main floor of The Auditorium. (the balcony is not recommended & would be inaccessible... we'd rather have you closer to the band, it's more fun!) Bathrooms are also accessible.

Is it true you're Livestreaming this show on May 26th ("LIVE")?

Yes! There is a second Eventbrite event page, where you can purchase the livestream. We Livestream this show so that our fans in the Napa, Davis, Sonoma County, San Francisco, San Rafael, Folsom, Grass Valley area can watch and continue to support this Beatles Guitar Project education program.

SAC PREP MUSIC ACADEMY

Has facilitated hundreds of events and performances. We produced the Midtown Vanguard Jazz Series, here in midtown Sacramento CA and over the course of three years gave more than 70 events, raising more than $120,000 to pay local Jazz Musicians. We produced a short lived series called Sacto Unplugged, where two bands set up side by side and took turns presenting their music to the audience.

SPMA continues to produce and managed The Beatles Guitar Project. Since it's informal conception in 2016 with the performance of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band, BGP has performed nearly every Beatles album live in concert; most concerts feature a rock orchestra comprised of local professional musicians who come together to support SPMA's mission which seeks to bring the student musician and the professional musician together on stage in front of a live audience. And to provide life changing experiences to young budding musicians who seek to move their music arts forward into this world & to become professionals themselves. Students of Sac Prep Music have gone on to graduate and receive full ride scholarships to distant universities in the United States, and we've had the best time teaching about music.

The Beatles Guitar Project has performed for thousands and thousands of fans for more than 8 years.
