Training Description:3-hour live webinar will focus on Filial and Theraplay, which are two very significant contributions to the field of Play Therapy. The purpose of this online training is for participants to learn and understand these approaches only.Theraplay® is a child and family modality of play therapy for building and enhancing attachment, self-esteem, trust in others, and joyful engagement.

Rated as "effective" by the SAMHSA National Registry for Evidenced–Based Programs and Practices, it is based on the natural patterns of playful, healthy interaction between parent and child. It is personal, physical, and fun.Filial therapy is a closely related form of child-centered play therapy that involves the parents or caregivers directly as the agents of therapeutic change. This is a flexible model, with various approaches to best fit the circumstance and referring issue. The parent or caregiver is present in every session and often leads the session themselves. Parents are trained to conduct child-centered play sessions, called "special play time."

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the history and development of Theraplay and Filial Therapy, two play-based approaches to use with families.

2. Discuss Filial and Theraplay interventions and techniques families can use in play sessions.

3. Analyze the relationship between parent and child to address the family dynamics that can influence how the family relates and interacts within the family.

Please note: Trainings must have a minimum of 4 participants; if there are fewer the training will be canceled within 48–72 hours before the training. And you will receive a full refund.
