PLAY Project Intensive Workshop

The PLAY Project envisions that all parents will be supported in developing a joyous relationship with their children with autism spectrum disorders in a way that will help each child reach their full potential.PLAY Project's vision is to train a global network of pediatric professionals to deliver an evidence-based, cost-effective intensive developmental intervention to families of young children with ASD.

The PLAY Project

<P>Richard Solomon, MD, founder of The PLAY Project, believes every young child with autism should have access to life-changing early intervention, by empowering their parents or caregivers.  The PLAY Project strives to create a world where all children with autism receive early intervention services and parents choose the best treatment options for their child.  </P>
<P>This professional development opportunity will provide you with an overview of the PLAY Project methods and principles along with case studies to gain immediate skills in helping children with autism. The workshop consists of case studies, video analysis of parent and child interaction, and group activities that develop your skills in play-based, developmental and behavioral techniques for engaging children with autism and other developmental delays.</P>

<P>Our intensive workshop will be of interest to administrators and policy makers involved with autism services, parents of children with autism, and providers who serve these children.This workshop can serve as a first step in pursuing the <A HREF="https://www.playproject.org/play-project-certification-training/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Certified Consultant Program" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Certified PLAY Project Consultant credential</A>.</P>

<P>Implement methods that help children with autism to (1) increase their social interaction and (2) develop a joyous relationship with their caregivers and other adults!</P>

<P>Identify techniques that help improve language, social skills, behavior, development, and play skills of children with autism!</P>

<P>Describe how a child’s unique profile is created and develop a plan to improve the child’s social interaction based on the profile!</P>

<P>The PLAY Project is proud to collaborate with UM-NSU CARD and Sheryl Rosin Ph.D., CCC-SLP to bring the Intensive Workshop to Florida. </P>
<P CLASS="BodyA"><SPAN>Sheryl Rosin Ph.D.,CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist and Certified Autism Specialist with 20 years experience in the field. Dr. Rosin has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to evidence-based practices in assessment and intervention for individuals with ASD. She is the owner and director of Palm Beach Speech-Language Specialists in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.; adjunct professors at Nova Southeastern University, University of Vermont, and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Dr. Rosin is the director of the Caribbean Autism Project - an international autism program with the Ministry of Education and Health at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. She currently serves on the board of the Florida Speech-Language Hearing Association (FLASHA) as the chair of the tele-practice committee and the VP for Continuing Education. Dr. Rosin is the winner of the 2016 FLASHA Clinician of the Year Award and the 2017 Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.</SPAN><SPAN></SPAN></P>
