About this event

Welcome to Plant-out Camp out!

Thank you for wishing to help plant trees!

This is an experimental event in “ Group Work for Land Healing” inspired in part by the Global Earth Repair conference held in Port Townsend in 2019. ( Lots of great videos from that conference are available online) Around the world, commons-based land management involves ritualized and ceremonial group work forms, from the LIMPIA ( Spring cleaning ceremony) of the Acequia irrigation systems of the Southwest, to Water temples of Balinese Rice irrigation systems, to Alp processions of the Swiss transhumance in Alpine pastures. Treating our home landscape as a place of belonging, means deepening our relationships with each other, our literacy of the seasons, of the ecology and needs of our watershed. We hope that this event is a learning experience for all of us in the logistics of low cost, low headache group work-- so that we can keep doing big projects that help improve local resiliency, and each time a little better. Thank you for your observations, your sensing, your input, your helping hands, and your patience with the process. Due to COVID it is very important to

  1. WASH YOUR HANDS
  2. MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCE
  3. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN DISHES
  4. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN SAFTEY
  5. BE VERY RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS

If you are uncomfortable with any of the above, then perhaps this isn’t for you. If you think you can plant trees in the sunshine and eat in socially distanced manner while meeting wonderful people--- we look forward to transcending the limits of this anti-assembly time, and rebuilding our social mojo together!
