Reduce time and costs while driving higher productivity in your work processes. 

This course teaches maintenance planning and scheduling best practices to more efficiently use maintenance labor and reduce time to effectively plan work, as well as proven methods for backlog management and work prioritization. It covers the individual roles of the Planning and Scheduling Work Team (PSWT) that are used to improve all elements of the Work Management System, including work identification, work planning, work scheduling, work execution, documenting work history, and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). It also includes an overview of best practices of Shutdown/Turnaround/Outage (STO) management, with exercises that apply real-life simulations to practice planning, scheduling, and executing an outage.

 During the in-class time, you will learn:

  • To clearly define the roles and responsibilities of the PSWT
  • The basics of identifying and prioritizing work, managing backlog, and estimating time
  • The process for scheduling routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks
  • Methods for determining Critical Path
  • How to implement and complete the process for planning and tracking complex down-day and outage events
  • How to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and increase the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
  • Ways to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
