Welcome to the PJFMS Recruitment and Collaboration Event! Join us at Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School for an exciting event that invites junior and graduating education majors and current teachers looking to collaborate with veteran teachers, administrators, middle level students, parents, and community partners to design real-world project-based learning units. It's a hands-on experience in which YOU will co-develop PBL learning experiences, budgets, field trips, community partners, and innovative learning spaces — all skills you’ll use in your future classrooms.

Beyond valuable experience, this event offers a potential pathway to employment. Participants who demonstrate exceptional skills and creativity will be invited to complete a “Golden Application” for a fast-tracked interview for a teaching position at Fisher Middle School. It’s a chance for new teachers to stand out, build your networks, and jumpstart your careers in a supportive environment.

Who should participate in this event?

We are looking to work with new and veteran teachers who have a passion for developing middle level STEAM and PBL learning experiences.

Where is this event taking place?

We wouldn't blame you if you have no idea where Dr. Phinnize J Fisher Middle School is. We are located on Millennium Boulevard, off Laurens Rd, across from Clemson CUICAR. We are in the heart of the innovation center of Greenville. We don't look like a school. LOL

What should I bring?

A person who would be best equipped for our event would dress comfortably. You will be moving around campus, so comfy shoes and pants would be a good idea. We will not judge you on your dress choices. You should also bring a laptop/tablet. The end.

Will there be snacks/food.

Yes. We know being hungry is dangerous as a teacher. We will mitigate danger.

What else should I know?

This is an event set up to learn more about becoming a middle level educator with a focus on STEAM and PBL. If you are unfamiliar with those terms, you may want to do a little research before hand.
