The people and partners we work with at FlexTrades are incredibly important to us. With that, when we heard about, Brian Warren, instructor at Meridian Community College, a longtime partner of ours, received one of the hardest pieces of news a parent can hear and his family would be facing a life-changing battle ahead, we started planning this event. Here is their story.
In September 2023, a noticeable lump appeared on 3-year-old, Jake Warren's arm. It was initially misdiagnosed as a Hemangioma at the Children's Cancer Center, and after several months of measuring and monitoring, Jake was officially diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in December 2023.
Since December, Jake has had multiple MRI's, CT scans, PETCT scans, a surgical biopsy, a chemo port surgically implanted in his chest, and a surgery to remove the sarcoma. He will begin another four months of chemotherapy this month (May) and start physical therapy and speech therapy.
Jake is a fighter, full of personality, and has a contagious smile. He loves dogs, watching Blue's Clues and Peppa Pig, being outdoors, and hanging out with his dad at the machine shop. He is supported by his loving family including parents, Brian and Marsha, and siblings, Lydia, Kayli, Amber, Taylor, and Breann.
