Pizza and Prep

Burlingame families are invited to enjoy free pizza and learn how to build an emergency kit at a family-friendly gathering on Friday, May 8.

Burlingame families are invited to enjoy free pizza and learn basic emergency preparedness tips at a Pizza and Prep Party on Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burlingame Community Center at 850 Burlingame Ave. in Burlingame. The first 40 families to sign up will receive a free backpack and will get to choose some complimentary emergency items, provided at least one parent and one child attend. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required.

Presented by the Burlingame Neighborhood Network (BNN), this event is designed to help parents and children learn what to include in a “Go Bag” that they can grab in case they need to evacuate quickly. Pizza will be provided by Sapore Italiano Ristorante on Burlingame Avenue. In addition to supplying the backpacks and emergency items, BNN will offer free drinks.

Pizza and Prep will take place in “Kids Town” at the Burlingame Community Center, which is located adjacent to the outdoor play structures. It has a gated patio and child-friendly restroom.
