Overview

CAPRI X Semana de la Evidencia 2025: A pitch competition presenting evidence-based solutions to crime and violence challenges in Jamaica.

Pitch for Peace – 5-Minute Presentations of Innovative Solutions for a Safer Jamaica

As part of Semana de la Evidencia 2025 (Evidence Week), CAPRI is excited to host Pitch for Peace, a fast-paced, public-facing forum spotlighting evidence-based solutions for crime, violence, and justice policy in Jamaica. This event brings together researchers, analysts, consultants, and practitioners to present single, actionable insights that can directly inform policymaking in the security and justice sectors.

Each participant will have five minutes to pitch their evidence-based finding, supported by one slide if needed, followed by feedback from a panel of judges from the policy, academic, and civil society sectors. The session will also include live polling via Slido, giving the audience a chance to engage, ask questions, and vote for the most compelling pitches.

Date: Tuesday, October 14 | Time: 2 PM (GMT-5) | Location: UWI Regional Headquarters
