About this event

PITC PARS - Instrument Training

This session provides an orientation to the PITC PARS tool and a deep dive into the content and uses of the PITC PARS. Topics covered include: the three intended purposes of the tool; the components and resources available; how the tool is organized; and how to use the PITC PARS Instrument for observing, documenting, and reflecting on the essential aspects of infant/toddler group care—from caregiving interactions to the physical environment to program policies and administrative structures. Completion of Session 1 (this course) is required prior to registering for Sessions 2–6.

This session is appropriate for family child care educators, infant/toddler care teachers, administrators, coaches, trainers, and anyone who wants to learn about quality indicators for infant/toddler group care settings.

Each registered participant will receive a copy of the PITC PARS Instrument (in English, Spanish, traditional Chinese, or simplified Chinese) and detailed information for using the tool to support self-reflection and coaching in infant/toddler group care settings.

Registration is limited to 20 participants.
