Pistol Accuracy Class (members only)

Class Description

This class will introduce current pistol owners to the basics of accurate pistol shooting, and teach you how to become more accurate at pistol target shooting by covering topics such as:

• Stance
• Grip
• Sight alignment
• Breath control
• Trigger pull
• Follow through

Report to the indoor range by 8:30 a.m., where each student will shoot 5 rounds on one target at 10 - 15 feet. Next, move upstairs and we'll review and reinforce techniques for the topics above. Last, we will return to the range for a hands-on practice session. At the end of the class, you’ll have an opportunity to compare your more recent targets to your first target in order to gauge your improvement.

Instructors will also be available to discuss the ASC pistol team and competitive shooting leagues for those who might be interested.

Target student population:

• ASC club members ONLY
• 18 year and above
• Students must already own or have access to a pistol they can legally use during the class
• Students must be familiar with safe handling and operation of their pistol
• Prerequisites: none required, but beginning shooters are encouraged to first attend "1-on-1 Pistol Coaching" or gain equivalent experience

Logistics:

• Students will be expected to bring the following with them to the class
• Legally-owned Pistol (only calibers allowed on the indoor range. List availvable here: http://www.andoversportsmensclub.org/Indoor%20Range%20Home%20Page.htm)
• Ammunition for your pistol (at least 100 rounds up to .45 caliber. No magnums.)
• Eye protection
• Ear Protection
• FID or LTC card
• ASC membership card

• Other details:
• Limited to 8 students (first come first serve)
• Class duration: 120 mins
• Targets will be provided by the club
• Facilities used: indoor range (will be closed during the class)
• DO NOT sign up for more than one class at the same time. It would be unfair to others.
• Club Serves breakfast from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Sundays. Why not come early for breakfast before the class?

Safety

• Safety will be stressed at the start of the class and throughout
• Any students observed in violation of pistol safety best practices will be asked to leave the class

Cancellation/Noshow Policy: This class is very popular, if you sign up and and then decide not to attend, you must go back to the EventBrite site and cancel your registration to free up your slot for someone else at least 7 days prior to the class date. If you do not do so, you will be invoiced for a $25 "No Show" fee. To cancel a registration: 1. Go to the EventBrite site and log in (www.eventbrite.com). 2. click on the "My Tickets" link. 3. Click the "View Order" button for the class you want to cancel. 4. Click the "Cancel Order" button and confirm.
