MOSES: AutoMated Vessels and Supply Chain Optimisation for Sustainable Short SEa ShippingOrganiser of the Workshop/Focus GroupMOSES, brings together a complementary consortium composed of 17 partners, from 7 European and associated countries,united in a common vision to enhance the sustainable short-sea shipping through the achievement of beyond state-of-the-art applied know-how and technological developments. MOSES aims to significantly enhance the Short Sea Shipping (SSS) component of the European container supply chain by addressing the vulnerabilities and strains that relate to the operation of large container ships. Α two-fold strategy will be followed, that aims to reduce the total time to berth for TEN-T Hub Ports and to stimulate the use of SSS feeder services in small ports that have limited or no infrastructure.Which are the concept &amp; the innovations?MOSES is an ambitious project that bears significant innovation potential in the context of European SSS uptake. Its innovation potential covers both vessel design aspects as well as software tools and accompanying governance models to improve related logistics processes.To achieve MOSES objectives, the following innovations will be implemented:(i) For the SSS leg, an innovative, hybrid electric feeder vessel including robotic cargo handling system;(ii) For Deep Sea Shipping (DSS) ports, the adoption of an autonomous vessel manoeuvring and docking scheme (MOSES AutoDock);(iii) A digital collaboration and matchmaking platform (MOSES platform).What is the Focus Group/ Workshop about?This meeting is about gathering stakeholders’ viewpoints (user needs &amp; requirements) with the aim to translate them into system requirements and about supporting the development of the MOSES use cases. After a short introduction, discussing the MOSES concept and Innovations, an interactive co-design/co-validate session will follow, where participants will be asked to provide input and refine the requirements . A brainstorming session will conclude the meeting, where challenges for all stakeholders will be elaborated and possible solutions will be discussed.Why join?By attending this event, you will be able to network with the MOSES consortium as well as with a wide range of maritime stakeholders.
