Searching for meaning, managing an existential crisis and dealing with daddy issues is a tall order for any wayward prince — but young Pippin also has to contend with a troupe of actors who keep guiding his story towards chaos, conflict and whatever else they assume the audience wants to see. The Harlem Rep’s rendition of this Tony-winning musical will make it obvious why Pippin is one of Broadway’s longest-running shows.
