Pinot noir. Adored. Revered. Misunderstood. Pinot Noir is a hard grape to grow. Thin-skinned, fragile in the field, hard on every grower who has ever loved it. It requires constant attention, it needs patience, it needs care, it needs love. Even still it will break your heart - it is not a survivor. Yet, it remains the highest pursuit. To drink it is to see the truth. It is haunting and flirty and complex and often deeply romantic. No other red is so honest or petty or frankly, sexy. It is Pinot Noir. It is Pinot Noir.
