We, the members of the Pimería Alta Historical Society Board of Trustees welcome you and
sincerely thank you for your support so we may continue to serve our unique borderline area by
collecting and sharing our rich and colorful history.
Our venue, Kasa Mia Restaurant, was once the Nogales Electric Light, Ice and Water
Company, and the site for the Roy & Titcomb Foundry. The foundry produced manhole covers
still found on many streets downtown. We salute those from this pioneer family who can join
us!
“...Roy and Titcomb's business operations ceased many years ago, but dozens of buildings
remain that were built by the firm, including the mill owned by Titcomb's Arizona and Sonora
Mining Company, which still stands on Grand Avenue across from the Food City supermarket.
Many water meter covers around Nogales still bear the Roy and Titcomb name.”

Our guest speaker, Nick Kyriakis will share some tales of his experiences at the long time
famous restaurant in Nogales Sonora, La Caverna. Known for its fine dining, excellent service
and traditional Mariachi music since 1915, it became a landmark for locals and tourists until a
fire in 1985 halted operations. We hope you will bring your photos of family and
friends enjoying the restaurant in a cave to share!
Lunch, beverage and dessert are included in the ticket price. Beer and wine will be available for an additional charge.
