Sarah K. Artha Negara is founder of the Pilates Instructor Certificate Program (PICP) at College of San Mateo. This program aims to serve students who are looking for a high-quality Pilates education at affordable community college prices. The college is an open-access, student-centered institution that serves the diverse educational, economic, social, and cultural needs of its students and the community.

(Rm201) Firm Up Pilates Style with Michelle Melendez / Pilates Cardio Camp:
This class is  combination of glide Pilates and intervals to strengthen your legs and butt for Summer! You'll work your core with a Pilates ball and do stability exercises that target your back, chest and triceps. To complete your workout, you'll use a myo-ball to release tension in tight muscles! This is our most popular Pilates Cardiocamp class! INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 
(Rm202) Magic Circle Mat Class with Allison Gonzalez / Purely Pilates: 
This is a Classical Pilates Mat class, designed by Joe Pilates, using the Magic Circle which intensifies the exercises. ADV.INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. (Equipment provided: Magic Circles) 
(Rm203) Breath: A Tool, Not A Rule with Deborah Marcus / Movement Refinery Pilates Studio:
Discover more mobility and strength in your Pilates practice through the intentional use of breath in this class that is great for ALL LEVELS. 
(Pop-Up Pilates Studio) Reformer & The "Wonderful" Chair!!! with Cristina Mancin / PICP Grad / SMAC
<H3>10:30-11:30 Classes </H3>
(Rm201) FUNctional Vertical Core & Balance Training with Gloria Boehm:
This an ALL LEVELS workshop that will focus on standing Pilates, breathe, alignment, and proprioception. This class will move the whole body using functional movements and balance challenges. Sports and dance conditioning techniques will be incorporated as well as flexibility training.
(Rm202) Advanced Mat Progressions (BASI style) with Brete Martin / Peninsula YMCA:
If you have ever wanted to attempt seldom-taught exercises in group mat classes, this workshop is for you! Learn and practice progressions for advanced exercises such as Hip Twist, Bicycle, Scissors and Boomerang, in the context of prepratory exercises that work together to create a balanced dynamic workout. ALL LEVELS. 
(Rm203) Fletcher Towelwork® with Catherine Anderson / Studio 4 Pilates
Developed by Pilates Master Ron Fletcher over the past 4 decades, Fletcher Towelwork® is a signature Fletcher Pilates® technique.  This class will explore basic Fletcher Towelwork®️ offering simple, yet effective, movements designed to balance, stabilize and mobilize the shoulder girdle and thoracic spine.  Performed mostly in a standing position, you will open the anterior chest and explore the connection of the arms and shoulders in relationship to the back. This is a BEGINNING LEVEL class, but will challenge anyone! 
(Pop-Up Pilates Studio) Beg/Int Reformer Workout with Sandy Lam / PICP Grad / SMAC
This class will focus on spinal extension to improve your posture and decompress your spine! We often spend too much time "bowing down" to our electronic devices and slouching in our chairs. Most of the movement we do throughout our day is also associated with forward flexion. Let's reverse some of these habits and conditions by stretching the front of the body and strengthening the back. Put down your cell phone and take this class instead to reform your spine! BEGINNER-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

<H3>1:00-2:00 Classes </H3>
(Rm201) Reformer on the Mat with Camilla Galvez / Pilates V 
This class is designed for students of ALL LEVELS. Camilla will take you through Reformer-inspired exercises using small props and a mat. The best thing about these exercises is that you can do them anywhere! Be prepared to have a full body workout set to high energy music. (Equipment provided: Therabands)
(Rm202) Classic Pilates Mat Exercises with Kevin Simmers / PICP Grad / Skyline Faculty: 
The focus of this class will be placed on the Pilates principles, especially precision and centering. The Pilates Magic Circle will be encorporated in this class. (Equipment provided: Magic Circles)
 
(Rm203) Intermediate Pilates Mat with Kim Moore / PICP Grad & CSM Yoga Grad: 
This will be an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL class. It will strengthen all the major muscle groups and focus on the Pilates principle: breathe. We will end the class with stretching, foam rolling and savasna. (Equipment provided: Foam Rollers) 
((Pop-Up Pilates Studio)) A Translation: Movement from Mat to Reformer and Back Again with Toni Maddocks / PICP Grad / SMAC: 
This BEGINNING-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL class will focus on how exercises vary and compliment one another when performed on the mat and reformer. We'll take moves that can be performed on both pieces of equipment and explore the relationship between the two. Some reformer experience recommended. (equipment provided: Rerformers, 5 Pilates Circles, 5 sets of 3lb weights, 5 bender balls)

(Rm201) Flow With Me: a mat class inspired by dance with Amy Malepeai Prado / PICP Grad / Club Pilates
Pilates and dance are about enjoying movement in our bodies. Come enjoy the flow of movement with the foam roller while strengthening & lengthening! (Equipment Provided: Foam Rollers)
(Rm202) Ultra Abdominals with Stella Lorvan / How to Move 
You know that hard to reach area between your ribs and your pelvis? Learn to isolate your abs by adding a roller or a Ball to mat exercises in this fun INTERMEDIATE LEVEL class! (Equipment provided: Balls & Bands)
(Rm203) Pilates-4-Older Adults with Katherine Phipps 
The beauty of the Pilates method is that it is safe, whether you are nine or ninety nine. Come to learn how to modify every exercise to your need and fitness level. This is a class for ALL LEVELS that builds strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and increased awareness of our body due to the mind body connection. It is what a Matured body needs!!!

<H3>What is Pilates Day?</H3>
Pilates Day is an annual, international, community event celebrated on the first Saturday of May every year. The Pilates Day mission is to foster the public's appreciation and awareness of the Pilates Method through a network of varied, innovative, and high quality grassroots Pilates events accessible and affordable for all. Pilates Day is a program of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), and Pilates Day events are produced and hosted by PMA members.
<H3>Parking </H3>
Parking will be FREE, but the Farmers Market will also be in full swing, so be sure to leave plenty of time to find a spot (and find our building). The GOOD NEWS is that our facilities manager just approved for all of you to be able to park in the Olympian Lot for this event. The lot is right between B6 and B8 adjancent to the pool.
