PIGSquad Half-Jam

The Portland Indie Game Squad is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting the health and continued expansion of game developer and enthusiast communities in Portland, the Pacific Northwest, and online. We provide events, resources, and networking activities for art and technology creatives. By investing in safe environments for student, hobbyist, and professional game developers, we serve the belief that community visibility and collaboration provides value to our education, relationships, and industry.

4pm: Hangout Mixer & Team Forming 4:30pm: Theme Revealed & Start Jamming 7pm: 15-minute Break & Animation Festival Screening 8:30pm: Wrap Up & Share! 9pm: End
It's half a game jam! Think up a new game idea from a jam theme and create a design document, incorporating plans for how art, music, tools, players, marketing, etc. all work together to make your new idea awesome. By the end of the evening, you'll have blueprints ready to start building a game! You are of course also welcome to bring a computer or tabletop supplies to begin production. The theme, sample design doc, and basic writing/drawing supplies will be provided. No technical skills are required for this half-jam. Teams may be formed before or during the event, and individuals are welcome to participate. Recommended supplies include extra paper, pens, art supplies, or laptops depending on individuals' personal brainstorming and communication techniques. Thank you to our collaborators:
