Students (& parents) are invited to the Piedmont Makerspace "Arduino Day!" on Saturday 4/2 1-4pm.

Arduino gives students the power to write code to control the world around them. We will do three projects focused on light, touch, sound.

Light: Blink an LED and change color of an RGB LED in code
Touch: Use a flexible touch strip to control a circuit
Sound: Use a speaker to write music in code

Make sure you bring a Chromebook or laptop to the event.

This event is part of global Arduino Day - a worldwide event bringing together Arduino people and projects.

What is Arduino? Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for anyone making interactive projects. Arduino lets you code the physical world.

What's a Makerspace? A new community space to promote S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education for Piedmont students. A Makerspace is project-driven: for Class, for S.T.E.A.M. Expo, for the Piedmont School Maker Faire, or for fun! A Makerspace is staffed with expert mentors - either teachers, parents, or high school students.

What is Piedmont Makers? The event is sponsored by Piedmont Makers - a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to Promote & Inspire K-12 S.T.EA.M. education in Piedmont & beyond.

Where is the Piedmont Middle School shop? Take the stairs down from Magnolia to the main plaza, go left towards the district office and take stairs down to the parking lot. Room 125 will be on your right (purple arrow below).
